Lauren Rose Wan is a Canadian-Chinese fashion designer based in New York City whose work blends her experience in costume, bridal and occasion wear to create a unique design perspective. Inspired by the harmony found in opposing forces, like yin and yang, she explores the relationship between contrasting elements and cultural influences. By blending historical Western fashions with traditional Eastern dress, she uses fashion as a medium to explore her Chinese heritage, while reflecting history, identity and authenticity. Through her designs, Lauren aims to craft pieces that are as beautiful as they are meaningful, weaving personal memories and cultural storytelling into each garment.

 

She is a current student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, with an AAS degree in Fashion Design, and continuing into the Bachelor's program with a specialization in Special Occasion Wear.
